श्री सोमेश्वर नाथ महादेव मंदिर अरेराज मोतिहारी पूर्वी चंपारण बिहार का अर्ध ज्योतिर्लिंग स्वरूप में प्रतिष्ठित है। यह बिहार का प्राचीनतम तीर्थ स्थल है यह देवता यक्ष गंधर्व राक्षस एवं समस्त प्राणियों के द्वारा पूजित मनोकामना शिवलिंग के रूप में प्रसिद्ध है। राजसत्ता के लिए पांडवो ने नित्य जलाभिषेक तथा फिर से विरासत वापस आए इसकी मान्यताएं द्वापर युग से सत युग तक जुड़ी हुई है एवम कलियुग में भी इस अर्ध ज्योतिर्लिंग की पूजा हो रही है

मठ का संचालन होती आ रहा है यह बड़े गर्व की और सौभाग्य की बात है कि एक ही परिवार से हर पीढ़ी में एक
सन्यासी पैदा लेते हैं और उस वंश के इष्ट देव के रूप में प्रतिष्ठित श्री सोमेश्वर नाथ महादेव को पूजते है आज तक यहां एक
ही परिवार से 16 महंत रहे है
